SYNOPSIS OF THE SHINOBI MARTIAL WAYS
The SHINOBI NATION is a chapter/movement within our AJWBA dedicated to continuing the life-line of all things pertaining to the Shinobi/Ninja/Kunoichi. This movement is fully committed to the preservation and transmission of authentic classical Shinobi/Kunoichi ways. The idea is to gather/share/lift each other thus, feeding the source of our traditions no matter any philosophical or idealistic distinction.
Whomsoever carries our Code Of Arms is a person who honors the true warriors of light. There is no darkness in his/her heart but only the belief that we are all One Mind, One Heart.
Ninpo Taijutsu finds its strength in the understanding of the elements of Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, and Cosmos (void/substance); and the inherent nature of the body and mind to naturally adapt. Ninpo Taijutsu contains many of the attributes of other martial arts such as kicks, blocks, hand drills, striking, gymnastics, throwing, grappling, subduing, escaping and trapping BUT none of the rigidity, robotic-like or animal imitating aspects. Ninpo is a very natural and adapting way of the arts. The one aspect which elevates Ninpo is the study and application of Ninjutsu.
The comprehensive research, philosophy, training and study work herein is a collective collaboration of the many who believe in and are loyal to the traditions.
What Does It Mean To Be A Shinobi? To relentlessly seek a peaceful and meaningful mind. To persevere beyond the human spirit’s expectations and to carry one’s duties as a member of this Archelian Legion and warriors of light.
Let us first find some meaning in NINJUTSU – we can say that is best described as the collection of martial (military) methodology and warfare strategies, but Ninjutsu is much more; it is the execution of “Living Strategies.” IT IS DEFINITELY NOT A MARTIAL ART.
Ninpo, however, implies the most complete and scientific study of the coexistence of the Shinobi methodology of combative measures and the philosophy for living based on the principles of Nin. Hence, we can say that NINPO IS THE LIVING SCIENCE OF THE SHINOBI.
THE SHINOBI’s HEART
Though the Shinobi’s mind knows of fear and defeat; he carries a stillness of the heart, for his purpose is not left to chance but by his own choice. The Shinobi must be well grounded in his/her own concept of reality because he/she iis dealing freely with the concepts of truth (light) and falsehood (darkness), fluidly bending one into the other. To prevent becoming lost, misguided, or swallowed up by his/her own fabrications, greed or awareness altering, the practitioner must maintain Seishin or ‘complete’ purity of heart.
The Shinobi/Kunoichi carries the truth in his/her heart, though he/she may appear unconventionally different or in many psychological guises to others. His/her intentions remain resolute in his/her heart, though it may appear otherwise to some, yet others may have no idea what those commitments entail. Because he/she is totally honest with himself/herself at all levels of introspection, he/she can venture into the realm of falsehood and untruth without defiling himself/herself or his/her spirit. He/she can willingly plunge into the cold darkness, knowing full well that he/she has the power to create his/her own light from the brightness he/she carries in his/her heart.
“Mastery of the self (elements) is the breaking down of all illusions of the one created by the many.”
Hanshi A. ‘Hanzo’ Ariza
